Sustainable Design

“Our economy and our society are defined by the designs we [designers and artists] chose to implement” (David Wann). i create and implement designs that have a positive impact on our society and our environment, from conception to production. i continue to evolve, modifying my habits as new information about sustainability crosses my path. i consider this design evolution.

About Me

most of my time is spent using the computer screen as a canvas. whether i’m writing, painting, sculpting or designing, my main goal is to live with the earth the best way i know how.

I grew up in Rochester, Wisconsin and graduated from Waterford Union High School in 1997. I attended the University of Wiscoinsin-Whitewater and graduated Cum Laude in 2002 with a double Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Art Studio, emphasis Graphic Design, and a Creative Writing minor.

I moved to Tucson, Arizona in the fall of 2003 and fell in love with the desert, and the amazing community of people in Tucson that have supported and encouraged me on my path of self-discovery.

In 2006, I traveled with a dear friend to Thailand and India. I stayed on a permaculture farm in Thailand and was inspired by the beautiful countryside and sustainable practices of the farm. In India, I completed a 10-day Vipasana Meditation retreat and attended teachings given by H.H. The Dalai Lama at his temple in Dharmsala.

My travels inspired me to study yoga, meditation and permaculture. i completed a 200-hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training program in 2008; a 250-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2008; and a 72-hour Permaculture Certification in 2009.

 

Private Yoga Instruction

I started practicing yoga in 2003.

Any yoga practitioner can receive a multitude of benefits from participating in group yoga classes. A great compliment to any yoga practice that involves group yoga is private yoga instruction. Working one on one with a yoga instructor allows the student a safe space to ask personal questions and to develop a personal yoga practice that speaks to the unique individual needs of the practitioner. I offer private yoga instruction alone or in conjunction with my health coaching services. Just as the nutrition philosophy that I studied focuses on bio-individuality, I focus my private yoga classes on addressing the practitioner’s unique set of physical, emotional and psychological needs.
